The Advanced Wound Care Matrix Exempt From CMS Pricing Cap
Omeza Complete Matrix remains exempt from new CMS skin substitute pricing rules, offering clinics stable reimbursement and continued access to advanced wound care therapy for 2026 and beyond

On October 31, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized the CY 2026 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS), introducing a standardized reimbursement rate of $127.28 per square centimeter for most advanced skin substitute products, effective January 1, 2026.
While this policy was designed to regulate reimbursement, it presents significant challenges for manufacturers, clinics, and (most importantly) patients. By applying a uniform price across products that vary widely in clinical design, performance, and cost, many providers may face reduced access to critical wound care therapies and limited treatment flexibility.
At Wound Care Portal and our parent company, RegenEdge Ventures, our mission is rooted in patient outcomes and long-term healing success. Like many leaders in wound care, we are deeply concerned about how these changes may restrict provider choice and innovation at the very moment patients need advanced therapies most.
OCM™ Stands Apart from the CMS Pricing Mandate
Amid these sweeping reimbursement changes, Omeza Complete Matrix (OCM™) remains an exception for advanced wound care solutions. CMS has determined that non-sheet products, including OCM™, will continue to be carrier-priced by local Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) and are exempt from the $127.28 per cm² pricing cap.
OCM™ maintains its established reimbursement of $2,050 per vial across all major jurisdictions, with MACs either honoring published local rates or reimbursing based on invoice pricing. This distinction positions OCM™ as one of the few advanced wound care technologies not impacted by the new CMS reimbursement restrictions, providing clinics with both financial stability and continued access to a proven therapy.
